Foorumikirjoituksia ei pidä ottaa liian vakavasti. On kuitenkin hauskaa huomata, miten "Harry Potter" ei ole ainut jota pidetään syntisenä. "The Landover Baptistien" foorumilla on otettu silmätikuksi Muumit. Muumit edustavat liberaaliutta ja syntiä. Tekstissä korostetaan, että muumien muoto on haettu "Raamatun" tarinasta jossa Jeesus ajoi demoneita sikoihin. you are upset, but I do not apologize for what I have said. My words and
thoughts come from the Holy Scriptures. I didn't write the Bible - God
did. So if my words upset you, then you don't have a problem with me -
you have a problem with God." Tämä on uskovaisten foorumeille kohtuullisen tyypillistä. Tosin yleensä enemmän asenteena kuin normina.

Parodian ja imitaation väli on joskus pieni ; parodia on eräässä mielessään imitaatiota jossa lisätään kontrastia ja liioitellaan. Kuitenkin jos mietitään mitä tarkoittaa fanatismi, voimme huomata että kaikki ääriliikkeet lisäävät kontrastia ja liioittelevat asioita joita muut harjoittavat enemmänkin kohtuudella. Parodian olisi jotenkin mentävä tästä yli - mutta tämä johtaa helposti mauttomuuteen ja banaaliuteen joka lakkaa olemasta hauskaa.
